The open transom, a highly identifiable feature on the Elan performance range, with efficient cockpit layout is designed to fulfill the needs of racing crew as well as enhance the ease of handling when cruising shorthanded.
All lines including the German mainsheet system are led under the deck to the cockpit and to powerful self-tailing winches, and the large diameter wheel places the helmsman in the optimum position for sailing efficiency, visibility and control.

The hull and main stringers are moulded in a one-shot process using highly advanced technology based on environmentally friendly vacuum assisted lamination called 3D VAIL. This advanced technique improves the strength and mechanical properties of the hull laminate by as much as 50%.
The hull's powerful inner structure ensures that all loads from the keel and rig are distributed effectively with minimum hull flexing.
